Chanel Garconne Le Vernis Nail Polish Review & Swatch

I have a very short post for you all today, but one that I have been looking forward to sharing with you since I posted my little review of Chanel Organdi. My manicure of the week in Garonne is one of the latest additions to the Chanel nail polish line, and is a lovely colour and unlike any other in my collection.

Garconne is a grey colour with warm undertones.  The coverage is lovely and rich and applies very easily and gives a lovely smooth streak free coverage.

To achieve this particular finish I applied two coats of the Garconne nail polish and a top coat of Out The Door Fast Drying Top Coat.

You can purchase the Chanel Le Vernis nail colour for £18.00 from Chanel counters nationwide.

Chanel Organdi Le Vernis Longwear Nail Colour Review & Swatch

I have fallen head over heels in love with my latest Chanel nail polish.  Organdi belongs to the Longwear nail colour range that promise to deliver a longer lasting colour.  I was instantly drawn to this colour as it is simplicity at its best yet delightfully different and pretty.  A beautiful cashmere dusky pink with a subtle brown undertone. The colour is shimmer free and makes my nails look so clean and elegant.  Some nude colours can be relatively hard to pull off, but this shade would suit a range of skin tones.

I applied two coats of Organdi and used the Chanel Le Gel Longwear top coat to achieve a glossy finish, and a review of the top coat will follow shortly once I have tested the longevity of the product.

You can purchase this nail colour from Chanel counters nationwide priced at £18.00.

Organdi is officially my new favourite nail colour. This colour is going to take some beating –   I absolutely love it!

Chanel Rouge Allure Gloss in shade Seduction – Review & Swatch | Lipstick Monday!

Chanel Rouge Allure Gloss 18 Seduction review swatch

For todays post I am sharing with you all a colour that I absolutely love, yet somehow managed to forget I had! I was searching through my lipstick drawers yesterday and this little beauty looked up at me.  The Rouge Allure Gloss collection are pretty colours that have an intense pigment and shine.  Usually lip glosses are very opaque, but these glosses really do hold their own.

The Chanel Rouge Allure colour that I am using today is in shade Seduction. A pretty strawberry red shade with cool blue undertones.  The packaging is every bit as luxurious as you would expect from a Chanel product, with a satisfying click to release the wand from the tube.  I applied the gloss straight onto my lips using the applicator without applying lip liner first. It was easy to use and did not settle into any lines on my lips. The gloss is very light but still has the sticky feel one expects from a lipgloss.

The colour only lasts about 3 hours on me, however if I am eating or drinking reapplication is a must. I did not have to worry about the colour bleeding which is very reassuring given it is a red.

As you can see from the images above, the colour makes my lips look so soft with a lovely glossy soft finish.  I love the effect of this gloss and the pretty pout it creates.  I will definitely be wearing this more often now, and feel utterly confused how I managed to forget about it! I will be looking out for more colours in the collection and hopefully add a rose nude to my makeup bag in the near future!

You can purchase Chanel Rouge Allure Gloss priced at £26.00 from Chanel counters nationwide.

Have you tried the Chanel Rouge Allure Glosses? Do you have a favourite colour? Do you like the finish this gloss has? I would love to hear from you!

How I set my foundation | Chanel Natural Finish Loose Powder 130 Beige Lumière

How to set foundation Chanel Natural Finish Loose Powder 130 Beige Lumiere

Every now and then, a product comes into your life and you wonder how you ever lived without it. I was finding my oily skin was getting the better of my makeup come mid morning.  My usual regimen of using my NARS compact powder was just not enough to set my foundation around the T-zone. My nose was becoming increasingly oily and my eyeliner was constantly working its way down my cheek come the afternoon.

One of my first luxury makeup purchases was a Chanel loose powder when I was a teenager.  All those years ago I fell in love with the beautiful packaging, even if I didn’t really know what I was doing with the powder itself! I remember the powder lasting for years, it just didn’t seem to go down!

Fast forward a few years and after reading some positive reviews on the product, I decided to go back to Chanel and give it a try.  I thought that gently buffing a layer of translucent powder over my foundation would result in a longer lasting application. The powder comes in a dressing table worthy pot with a gorgeous high gloss Chanel lid.  It opens to reveal a soft applicator that picks up the loose powder from the pot in an even fashion.

I gently pat a generous amount on my nose, forehead and chin and then take my lovely Besame Finishing Brush to lightly dust the product over my face and buff into my skin.

Besame Finishing Brush Face Powder Review

The Besame Finishing Brush really is every bit as beautiful as it is useful.  This brush plays a big part in the finish of the powder and is so soft that it makes my face look airbrushed.   I cannot recommend this brush highly enough, and have not owned anything like this in the past.

The Besame Boudoir Long Hair Finishing Powder Brush is available from Sephora (they ship internationally, thankfully!) and is priced at $50.00 (approx £36.00) If you are thinking of purchasing a new beauty tool for the new year then consider adding this to your collection.  I promise you won’t regret it!

Chanel Beige Lumiere gives the face a lovely sheen and glow and stops your foundation looking heavy. It does not contain glitter so will not sit in fine lines or wrinkles and looks universally flattering on all from young to old alike! The pictures below show how the powder sits on the skin, and as you can see from the second image, my skin has a wonderful healthy glow.

The Chanel Loose Powder is priced at £36.00 for 30g of product, which for how long it lasts is very good value for money.

I would love to hear from you if you have tried the Chanel Loose Powder or indeed the Besame Finishing Brush.

Chanel Precision Nourishing and Rejuvenating Hand Cream | Review

Chanel Precision Body Excellence Nourishing and Rejuvenating Hand Cream Review

Hello everyone! I hope you had a lovely Christmas and Santa left you all lots of beautiful makeup and beauty goodies under the tree! I can’t wait to work my way through all of my beauty gifts and review them over the coming months!

I have had my eyes on this lovely hand cream from Chanel for quite some time.  Every time I walk past the Chanel makeup counter I have a sneaky little test of it. It leaves my hands wonderfully soft with a distinctive scent of delicate lotus and hibiscus flower that lasts for some time.  I was delighted to unwrap this hand cream yesterday and have it ‘on tap’ throughout Christmas Day!

Chanel Precision Body Excellence Nourishing and Rejuvenating Hand Cream Review

Chanel Precision Body Excellence Nourishing and Rejuvenating Hand Cream is priced at £41.00 for a 75ml tube. It is a little pricey for a hand cream but if it works and I like it then this is totally justifiable. After all, our hands work hard throughout the day so it is important to look after them.

This hand cream belongs to the Chanel Precision collection.  It contains Purple Bengle PFA extract that is exclusive to Chanel. This extract offers firming properties and is the perfect ingredient for beauty products.  It prevents dark spots (age spots) on our hands and conditions the cuticles.

This hand cream can be used at any time of the day on clean hands.  Massage a small amount into each cuticle, nail, finger and the palms.  The cream is rapidly absorbed.  Personally, I don’t like the feeling of a ‘coating’ over my hands and this hand cream, thankfully, does not leave me feeling like this.

I am making it my New Year’s resolution to take extra care to look after my hands.  The texture and appearance of our hands give away our true age so I am investing today to (hopefully!) see the benefits in 30 years time!

Hope you enjoyed my review of the Chanel Hand Cream.  Have you tried this? I would love to hear from you!

Chanel Le Vernis Nail Polish 491 Rose Confidentiel Review and Swatch

Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour Nail Varnish 491 Rose Confidentiel Review Swatch

For todays post I wanted to share with you what is now one of my favourite nail colours of recent times.  Oh yes readers, this is up there with my Nails Inc Victoria Beckham Bamboo!

Rose Confidentiel 491 is a classic rose pink colour that looks just as elegant on the nails as it does in the bottle. It is not too bold, or too nude and is the perfect colour for everyday wear.  It is very flattering and adds a lovely warmth to my skin.

Application was a dream.  It glides onto the shape of my nail effortlessly.  The image above is two layers of Rose Confidentiel.  I think two coats is needed to give a nice opaque finish.  I used Chanel Extreme Shine Topcoat to finish this manicure.  I will do a different review on this product in the future as I want to try it out again before I share it with you all.  I think you can see though that the overall finish looks great.

I had two people ask what nail polish I was wearing, so if you are after a colour that is effortlessly classic and just, well… pretty then I recommend Chanel Rose Confidentiel as a ‘must-have’ and definitely one to try!

Chanel Rose Confidentiel is available nationwide and priced at £18.00 for 13ml.

Have you tried Rose Confidentiel? Do you love this colour as much as I do? I would love to hear from you!

Chanel Ecorce Sanguine Le Vernis Nail Varnish – Autumn Winter 2015 Collection

Chanel Le Vernis Ecorce Sanguine Nail Colour Nail Polish Review Swatch

It’s Friday evening – my favourite time of the whole week.  For today’s post I wanted to share with you all my thoughts on my chosen nail colour for the past week. Having chosen nudes recently, I decided to go for a change and try out a new nail colour.

I always look forward to seeing the limited edition Chanel nail colours, and the Autumn Winter 2015 collection certainly didn’t disappoint!   The collection offered us a choice of three shades and I want to share with you all my pick of the bunch, Ecorce Sanguine.

This shade is a lovely deep red colour that is just perfect for autumn.  I fell in love with this red when I saw it.  It is somewhat different to any other red I own.  I see it as a classic red, and as we all know Chanel certainly knows how to do a classic.

The colour has a very subtle gold shimmer to it, but this is ever so slight and is only visible when closely examining your nails under natural light.  There is something about this red that I love. It screams Chanel and in my opinion looks very elegant.

The colour was easy to apply, and was opaque in two coats. I used a gel effect top coat to give it a plump glossy shine.

Chanel Ecorce Sanguine is priced at £18 and is available at Chanel counters nationwide.

Chanel Le Vernis Beige Rose 655 Nail Colour – Review

Chanel Le Vernis 655 Beige Rose Le Vernis Nail Colour Review Swatch

Just a short post for today, but one I simply couldn’t resist sharing with you all. Summer 2015 saw the release of the Chanel ‘Les Beiges’ collection. A beautiful collection of beige nail colours that had my name written all over each and every one of them! The colour I am particularly excited about is Beige Rose 655. My manicure of choice for this week!

Chanel Beige Rose is a beautiful glossy pink colour that is the perfect colour for brightening up my hands. It goes on effortlessly and does not streak. This colour has been on my nails for four days so far and it is still chip free.

Overall, I am really pleased with this nail colour. It is priced at £18.00 and you are still able to purchase from some outlets online, but if you are interested I would be quick so you don’t miss out!

I am most impressed with the finish of this colour. In fact, I think it has a gel like quality. What do you think?

Chanel Frenzy 559 Le Vernis Nail Colour – Review

Chanel Frenzy 559 Nail Colour

Ok, hands up.  I have only ever finished two bottles of nail colour in my life.  Considering I wear nail colour every day of the year this is quite some achievement! This is one bottle that I have used entirely and repurchased so I feel it has earned its place on my blog!  We all have that nail colour that we know will be appropriate for any occasion or compliment any outfit choice and this colour ticks all the boxes for me! Chanel Frenzy Nail Colour is a light, buildable, flesh toned grey.  It is super flattering against my skin tone and is a lovely distinctive shade whilst still looking natural.

My manicure has two coats of nail colour topped with one coat of Seche Vite. The nail colour gives good coverage and is easy to apply.  One coat of this nail polish is not quite enough to do the colour justice as the first coat goes on very sheer.  I feel two coats is needed to give a full coverage.

Chanel Frenzy Nail Colour and Seche Vite review

This nail colour is priced at £18 and is available from Chanel counters nationwide.

Chanel Rouge Coco Emilienne (452) Lipstick – Review

Chanel Coco Rouge Emilienne (452)

Chanel Rouge Coco Emilienne

I was so impressed with the Chanel Rouge Coco Dimitri lipstick that I decided to treat myself to another colour from the collection.  After much deliberation and many colour swatches I decided to buy shade Emilienne (452).  The Dimitri lipstick colour is a pinky red shade however Emilienne is more of a metallic plum colour that transfers to a lovely dark pink colour.

The colour payoff is semi opaque which personally speaking I love.  I am able to build this up to the colour I want.  This lipstick lasted a good three hours looking relatively fresh but still had a hint of sheen and colour 5 hours later.  The image below shows two coats of the lipstick, but I have applied this lightly favouring a more sheer finish.

Chanel Emilienne 452 Lipstick

Chanel Emilienne 452 Lipstick

Like the Dimitri colour, this is a real joy to wear.  It is soft on the lips, does not stick to dry patches and glides on almost perfectly.  I am a real super fan of these lipsticks and I am already looking forward to buying another colour in the collection – perhaps a more natural nude shade next time.  They are on the expensive side but in my opinion are worth every penny.  You can certainly tell the quality and I cannot compare these to any other lipstick I have tried.

Can you recommend another colour in the Chanel Rouge Coco collection for me to try? I would love to hear your recommendations!

This lipstick is priced at £26.00 and you can purchase from Chanel counters nationwide.
