How I set my foundation | Chanel Natural Finish Loose Powder 130 Beige Lumière

How to set foundation Chanel Natural Finish Loose Powder 130 Beige Lumiere

Every now and then, a product comes into your life and you wonder how you ever lived without it. I was finding my oily skin was getting the better of my makeup come mid morning.  My usual regimen of using my NARS compact powder was just not enough to set my foundation around the T-zone. My nose was becoming increasingly oily and my eyeliner was constantly working its way down my cheek come the afternoon.

One of my first luxury makeup purchases was a Chanel loose powder when I was a teenager.  All those years ago I fell in love with the beautiful packaging, even if I didn’t really know what I was doing with the powder itself! I remember the powder lasting for years, it just didn’t seem to go down!

Fast forward a few years and after reading some positive reviews on the product, I decided to go back to Chanel and give it a try.  I thought that gently buffing a layer of translucent powder over my foundation would result in a longer lasting application. The powder comes in a dressing table worthy pot with a gorgeous high gloss Chanel lid.  It opens to reveal a soft applicator that picks up the loose powder from the pot in an even fashion.

I gently pat a generous amount on my nose, forehead and chin and then take my lovely Besame Finishing Brush to lightly dust the product over my face and buff into my skin.

Besame Finishing Brush Face Powder Review

The Besame Finishing Brush really is every bit as beautiful as it is useful.  This brush plays a big part in the finish of the powder and is so soft that it makes my face look airbrushed.   I cannot recommend this brush highly enough, and have not owned anything like this in the past.

The Besame Boudoir Long Hair Finishing Powder Brush is available from Sephora (they ship internationally, thankfully!) and is priced at $50.00 (approx £36.00) If you are thinking of purchasing a new beauty tool for the new year then consider adding this to your collection.  I promise you won’t regret it!

Chanel Beige Lumiere gives the face a lovely sheen and glow and stops your foundation looking heavy. It does not contain glitter so will not sit in fine lines or wrinkles and looks universally flattering on all from young to old alike! The pictures below show how the powder sits on the skin, and as you can see from the second image, my skin has a wonderful healthy glow.

The Chanel Loose Powder is priced at £36.00 for 30g of product, which for how long it lasts is very good value for money.

I would love to hear from you if you have tried the Chanel Loose Powder or indeed the Besame Finishing Brush.

Talk to you all soon x

  2. I too have oily skin however the only thing that stopped me buying this product was the price. Me and my mum have a rule: if it hasn’t got a price you probably can’t afford it. Stupid, I know 😂, but it happens most the time. I swatched it on my hand and I loved it but the price is a bit…meh.
