Quite Possibly The Best Beauty Invention Ever! – StylPro Makeup Brush Cleaner And Drier by Stylfile | Review

I absolutely love makeup, but I definitely don’t like cleaning my makeup brushes! Sunday afternoon would often be the time dedicated to cleaning my brushes and I could easily spend half an hour just cleaning my favourites and laying them all flat to allow the air to dry them naturally. I have some expensive makeup brushes in my collection, and am always conscious not to allow water into the handle especially on wooden handles as they are so delicate and prone to weakening or even worse breaking. It can often take hours for the brushes to dry completely and I must confess for these reasons I sometimes find myself not cleaning them for a few weeks at a time …. I know, utterly disgusting on my part and very unhygienic!

I have been a fan of the Stylfile brand for some time. Inventor Tom is the man behind the ingenious S shaped nail file that make filing nails to a professional standard a dream. I had the pleasure of meeting Tom in the past, and he was lovely. I wish I had the chance to meet him now and thank him for his latest invention, the StylPro Makeup Brush Cleaner and Drier. This invention is quite possibly the best invention to the beauty industry in recent years. Not only does it clean your brushes to a surgically clean standard in seconds, but it also dries them in seconds too making it possible to reuse the brushes immediately after cleaning them. No longer do I have to spend time cleaning each brush by hand in the sink and make a complete mess in the process by splashing dirty water around the sink!

Below are the pictures of the individual components included in the StylPro Makeup Brush and Drier Kit.

Left to Right: Makeup brush cleanser fluid, Glass cleaning bowl with silicone seal and splash guard, Silicone collars (in a variety of sizes to fit different size brushes) and StylePro device along with attachment spindles.

So, let me show you how this invention works!

First of all, add some of the cleaning solution to the glass bowl.  I find the StylPro cleansing solution works better with my foundation brushes, but this is not essential. You could use your favourite cleanser by any brand. Take the silicone seal and guard and ensure it is securely attached to the bowl.

The next step is to take your makeup brush and decide which silicone collar fits best.  Once  the collar fits securely, attach a spindle to the base and then attach it to the StylPro device.

Now the magic happens! Dip the makeup brush into the solution and gently press on the bottom of the bowl to make the makeup brush splay. Turn on the device and watch it spin in the solution for approximately 10 seconds. After this, gently lift the device out of the solution (but still in the bowl) and let it continue to spin.  You are then left with a beautifully clean and dry brush ready for using again!

You can purchase the StylPro Makeup Brush Cleaner and Drier for £49.99 here

I cannot recommend this product highly enough. It not only cleans my brushes to a very high standard, but also dries them within seconds too.

Have you tried the StylPro cleaner? Let me know if you have tried it out or if you are planning to order one in the near future. I would love to hear from you!

How I set my foundation | Chanel Natural Finish Loose Powder 130 Beige Lumière

How to set foundation Chanel Natural Finish Loose Powder 130 Beige Lumiere

Every now and then, a product comes into your life and you wonder how you ever lived without it. I was finding my oily skin was getting the better of my makeup come mid morning.  My usual regimen of using my NARS compact powder was just not enough to set my foundation around the T-zone. My nose was becoming increasingly oily and my eyeliner was constantly working its way down my cheek come the afternoon.

One of my first luxury makeup purchases was a Chanel loose powder when I was a teenager.  All those years ago I fell in love with the beautiful packaging, even if I didn’t really know what I was doing with the powder itself! I remember the powder lasting for years, it just didn’t seem to go down!

Fast forward a few years and after reading some positive reviews on the product, I decided to go back to Chanel and give it a try.  I thought that gently buffing a layer of translucent powder over my foundation would result in a longer lasting application. The powder comes in a dressing table worthy pot with a gorgeous high gloss Chanel lid.  It opens to reveal a soft applicator that picks up the loose powder from the pot in an even fashion.

I gently pat a generous amount on my nose, forehead and chin and then take my lovely Besame Finishing Brush to lightly dust the product over my face and buff into my skin.

Besame Finishing Brush Face Powder Review

The Besame Finishing Brush really is every bit as beautiful as it is useful.  This brush plays a big part in the finish of the powder and is so soft that it makes my face look airbrushed.   I cannot recommend this brush highly enough, and have not owned anything like this in the past.

The Besame Boudoir Long Hair Finishing Powder Brush is available from Sephora (they ship internationally, thankfully!) and is priced at $50.00 (approx £36.00) If you are thinking of purchasing a new beauty tool for the new year then consider adding this to your collection.  I promise you won’t regret it!

Chanel Beige Lumiere gives the face a lovely sheen and glow and stops your foundation looking heavy. It does not contain glitter so will not sit in fine lines or wrinkles and looks universally flattering on all from young to old alike! The pictures below show how the powder sits on the skin, and as you can see from the second image, my skin has a wonderful healthy glow.

The Chanel Loose Powder is priced at £36.00 for 30g of product, which for how long it lasts is very good value for money.

I would love to hear from you if you have tried the Chanel Loose Powder or indeed the Besame Finishing Brush.

Space NK Haul | Artis Elite Collection Circle 1R Makeup Brush and Oribe Thick Dry Finishing Spray

Space NK Haul Oribe Thick Dry Finishing Spray Artis Elite Collection Circle 1R Brush

No matter how hard I try I am unable to walk out of Space NK empty handed. My recent trip was no different and I walked out with two items I just can’t wait to try out!

Artis makeup brush Elite Collection Circle 1R

I wasn’t thinking of buying a new makeup brush, but these particular ones caught my eye. I couldn’t figure out what exactly these brushes were at first glance as they are so different to any other brush I have seen before.  These brushes are designed to fit the shape of our hands when applying our own makeup.  They come in a large array of sizes from foundation and powder brushes to eyeshadow and eyeliner brushes.  I chose the Circle 1R.  It has a tilt from the handle and a round fibre brush that provides a soft yet focused finish.  This particular brush applies the product into the creases of my lids softly to help sculpt them and give an airbrushed finish.  It can also be used on other small areas such as the corners of the eye and beside the nostrils. I must admit my first thought was to use this as a lip brush so that I can work the lipstick into my lips but I am thinking this brush is almost too good for that.  I am looking forward to giving this a try and will update with a review as soon I have tried it out.

Next up is a hair product. I am really enjoying using my Oribe haircare collection at the moment, so couldn’t resist adding this to my collection. The Oribe Thick Dry Finishing Spray is perfect for plumping up my hair.  I thought this would be perfect for when I put my hair in ponytail and want to add a little volume on the crown. Again, I will give this a try and share with you all my thoughts.

The Oribe Thick Dry Finishing Spray is priced at £36.00 and the Artis Circle 1R Elite Collection brush is priced at £25.00

Hope you enjoyed my Space NK Haul! I can’t wait to try them out and share with you my findings!
